Class 1 Science Units Over the year we will be studying plants, animals including humans, seasonal changes and everyday materials. We will work scientifically to ask and answer simple questions; develop our skills of observation; perform simple tests and experiments; identify and classify information and gather and record data to support our findings.
Class 2 Science Units Over a two year cycle, we will be studying light, rocks and soils, forces and magnets, plants, animals including humans, living things and their habitat, solids, liquids and gases, electricity, sound and scientists and inventors. We will extend our scientific knowledge through the use of practical scientific methods, processes and skills. We will begin to choose appropriate lines of enquiry and consider the best way in which to test for these. We will also think more carefully about how to make tests fair, ensuring accuracy in our results. We will learn to classify and sort using a range of strategies and use careful measuring to know we have proved or disproved our findings. Science Curriculum Map 2017
