Sports Premium Grant for 2016 - 2017
During the 2016-2017 year the Tynedale Schools Partnership will continue to deliver high quality PE lessons alongside school staff. A calendar of competitions linked to the curriculum has been organised. This is the final year that we will be buying into this provision as school staff have been upskilled and can offer the expertise to continue providing the same high level of teaching, competition and after school activity clubs. Any further CPD will be accessed using this funding to maintain staff skill levels.
Mr Hartley (Class 2 Teacher) is our PE co-ordinator and will be responible for maintaining our current high quality PE delivery. Co-ordinators from our mini partnership of schools will meet on a termly basis to plan and review provision.
The funding has provided a much wider range of sports than a very small school could normally access, including greater participation in competitive sport. Specialist support has meant that pupils have had a better quality of sport coaching and teachers have been upskilled. Pupils are more enthusiastic about PE and look forward to the coach coming to school with a range of different equipment. The school has also purchased a wider range of sporting equipment for all pupils to use. The funding has also allowed us to run an After School Sports Club each week which has had a very good uptake. Children have also learned to mix with other schools, be part of team building and experience exposure to different levels of competition. In the future hockey, netball and dance performance may take place.
For the second year running, we are proud to have achieved Sainsbury School Games Gold Level Award for 2016-2017.
